Season 17, Episode 20 - "Episode 20" Finals week continues on MasterChef: The Professionals, with just three of the country's most exciting chefs still in with a shot at the title. Their culinary minds will be blown as they cook for one of the world's most exciting talents in a remote setting that will take their breath away. The contestants are whisked away to the town of Baltimore, in County Cork, Ireland, home to the two Michelin-starred Turkish restaurant, Dede. The restaurant is run by trailblazing chef Ahmet Dede, who delivers the finest Turkish and Irish seasonal produce on plates that celebrate both cultures. Many of the plates come from Ahmet's cherished memories growing up and are very close to his heart. Cuisine this unique will be a first for the final three, who will start their journey by catering a lunch for some specially invited guests. Before they can do this, the finalists need to understand Ahmet's ethos.Chef Ahmet himself will cook a few of his favourite dishes in an outdoor kitchen. These include an extraordinary kebab dish and a recipe that combines the finest Irish beef with flavours from the Ottoman Empire. The level of detail here is off the scale, and the plates require a delicate touch like no other.Armed with inspiration, the finalists will then travel to Inish Beg, a private island estate with over 97 acres of spectacular woodland and gardens. Outdoor kitchens have been set up in the stunning walled garden, from which the finalists will need to prepare lunch for Ahmet's family and friends. Their own lunch menu will include plates of food inspired by the earlier masterclass that are based on their passions and memories. A selection of the finest local ingredients is available, along with a larder packed with some of Ahmet's Turkish favourites. Cooking with live flames, at the mercy of the Irish weather, will no doubt add extra pressure to an already stressful situation. The finalists will need to find their feet quickly, as they will be thrown in at the deep end, joining Ahmet's elite brigade of chefs for a lunchtime service. They will each be responsible for two dishes from Dede's tasting menu, which can sometimes take the most experienced chef months to master. This includes a dessert inspired by his daughter - so nobody will want to let him down.Today's diners include Marcus, Monica and Gregg, who will expect their chosen finalists to deliver to the two Michelin standard. Every mouthful matters at this stage, as the hunt for this year's champion is almost at an end.

Season 17, Episode 18 - "Episode 18" The semi-finals come to an end, with a stunning task that will require the five remaining chefs to draw on every reserve they can muster, if they hope to make it to finals week. The five professionals are heading to Surrey, home to RHS Garden Wisley, which houses the headquarters of the Royal Horticultural Society, celebrating its 200th anniversary that day.In honour of this milestone, the five contestants will be asked to create a three-course menu, using produce from Wisley's World Food Garden, which spans 3700 square metres, and includes a stunning array of fruit, vegetables, herbs and edible plants from across the globe. Some proteins including rabbit and venison are also being provided, but everything on the plates must come together in perfect harmony.Amongst those dining today are three-time Chelsea Flower Show gold medal winner Charlotte Harris and award-winning designer of Wisley's World Food Garden Ann-Marie Powell. Hosting the celebrations is Helena Pettit, the RHS Director of Shows, Commercial and Innovation, so it's crucial the contestants deliver a meal to remember.Next, it's back to the MasterChef kitchen where the competition ramps up. The brief is simple - one dish that is inspired by someone close to the contestants. They might choose a mentor, a loved one, or a family member, but the dish must have heart, and be the perfect illustration of that bond. Then, it's time for one of the toughest eliminations of the series, as one chef misses out on finals week, and the successful four continue the adventure of a lifetime, which will see one of them crowned MasterChef: The Professionals champion 2024.

Season 16, Episode 20 - "Episode 20" It's finals week on MasterChef: The Professionals, and just three incredible chefs remain. Embarking on the trip of a lifetime to Copenhagen, Denmark, they will enter a world of gastronomy that goes beyond anything they have encountered before.Their journey will take them to the two Michelin-starred Alchemist. Recently voted the fifth best restaurant in the world, it is run by head chef and mastermind, Rasmus Munk. Entering an old shipyard, the finalists will step into an immersive world where science, art and food collide in breathtaking fashion.First, the finalists will attend a short masterclass to understand the ethos behind Rasmus' unique holistic food, where dishes are called ‘impressions' for the very reason that they each tell a story designed to elicit an emotion from the diner. Some comforting, some confronting, this is an experience for the bold and the brave. Once inspired, it's down to the three finalists to create their own ‘impression' for Rasmus to taste and critique. Ingredients that would normally go to waste are a mainstay here, including pig's windpipes, cod jaw and cow's udders. So the finalists will have to use their chef's intuition to deliver something truly spectacular. That's just for starters, as the lucky three will then have the once in a lifetime opportunity to join Rasmus' 25 strong brigade of chefs to deliver a full restaurant service. They will each be responsible for two ‘impressions' from an epic tasting menu that stretches to 50 courses. They will have just hours to deliver food that can take years to master. Expect dumplings made out of candyfloss and screen-printing techniques used to create sweet treats. This is creativity on entirely different scale.Today's diners include Marcus, Monica and Gregg, who will expect their finalists to wow on every front and deliver dishes that hit Rasmus' two Michelin star standard. The grand final is almost here, so every mouthful matters in the race to take the title.

They need to wow the three judges with a knockout dish that exemplifies the way in which food can remind you of wonderful times. The chefs have one hour and 15 minutes to prepare their cherished dish, after which the five strongest chefs of the day will go straight through to the next semi-final round. The five weakest chefs then need to leave their faults behind and once more compete against each other in the cook-off round. This consists of an invention test in which they must create a dish you could order from a fine dining food delivery experience. The chefs must make it sophisticated and practical, but they also need to be mindful of how the dish is presented in takeaway boxes, whilst still focusing on quality. They have an hour and 30 minutes to deliver their dish, and for two of our hopefuls their journey will come to an end.The three best chefs will join the five from the previous round and continue their pursuit of the MasterChef: The Professionals 2020 trophy.

Season 11, Episode 18 - "Episode 18" It is semi-finals week and the competition is heating up. MasterChef presenter Gregg Wallace teams up with chef Monica Galetti and Michelin-starred Marcus Wareing to continue their search for this year's MasterChef: The Professionals champion. It is the last semi-final and the three remaining chefs are in close competition for a place in finals week. For their first challenge, they are sent to cook at an exclusive address in Padstow, Cornwall - Paul Ainsworth at No 6. Chef Paul Ainsworth honed his skills with culinary legends Gary Rhodes, Gordon Ramsay and Marcus Wareing before striking out on his own in Cornwall. With his unique inimitable style of combining playful creativity with bold, beautiful and perfectly balanced flavours Paul won a Michelin star and he is now considered one of the greatest chefs in Britain in his own right. The chefs will have the enviable opportunity to learn from Ainsworth himself and cook alongside his elite brigade. The first step for the chefs is to understand the inspiration and elegance of Paul's food when he gives them a masterclass and demonstrates his barbecued Cornish duck with Peking tea and a pick-your-own salad. Buoyed on by the insight and energy that Paul imparts, the chefs are challenged to create their version of his duck dish for him to taste. Paul needs reassurance that the chefs before him have understood his philosophy and can emulate his impeccable cookery. Season 11, Episode 17 - "Episode 17" It is semi-finals week and the competition is is on a knife edge. MasterChef presenter Gregg Wallace teams up with chef Monica Galetti and Michelin-starred Marcus Wareing to continue their search for this year's MasterChef: The Professionals champion.Tonight the first three remaining semi-finalists battle it out for a place in finals week. They are sent to work alongside one of the countries' leading chefs, Michael Caines. Caines is creating a new food legacy in his own country house hotel and restaurant in Exmouth - Lympstone Manor. Having held two Michelin stars at Gidleigh Park for 18 years, Caines embarked on his own venture in 2017 - a culmination of his lifelong dream to create and shape his own vision for generations to come. Lympstone Manor draws on inspiration from the beautiful Exe estuary that it overlooks and the surrounding countryside. The exceptional food that Caines is creating at Lympstone Manor won a Michelin star within the first six months of opening. The chance for the semi-finalists to cook alongside Caines as he makes history is a huge privilege and one that will place them in an extraordinary position to supercharge their culinary skills. The first eye-opener for the chefs is to see Michael cook one of his signature dishes, lobster fricassee with a lobster bisque and summer vegetables. Understanding the intricacy and inspiration for the dish is key as Michael turns the tables and throws down the gauntlet for the chefs: he wants them to create their version of his dish for him to taste. Michael is looking for evidence of their ability to balance flavor, create textural variation and cook impeccably. Once the chefs have shown that they have the culinary mastery to take a place in his kitchen, they are each shown a further dish that Michael has on his menu. The chefs will join Michael's elite brigade and each take responsibility for a dish to be served during a packed service in his prestigious restaurant. The chefs face the toughest challenge of their careers, cooking at this level under the watchful gaze of Michael Caines. Only perfection will pass the test.Next, the inspired chefs return to the MasterChef kitchen where they face the challenge of cooking their own dishes for a two-course menu which Marcus, Monica and Gregg will taste. The judges expect their food to have reached new heights. The chefs must aim for the skies, as at this stage in the competition, one tiny slip can mean the difference between gaining a place in finals week or going home.
